Making Christmas Cocktails with Wilko | AD

Christmas is my absolute favourite time of the year, summer is great however there is nothing better than curling up and watching Christmas films, choosing gifts for family and friends, eating ALL the Christmas food and throwing a great party with all your loved ones!

Wilko have sent over some of their amazing products from their Christmas Party range and I have had the best time creating cocktails as though I'm some kind of professional!

They've got a fantastic range of quality products at an affordable price, I've been really impressed by everything.

I had such a great time displaying lots of snacks and candles on a table in front of the Christmas tree (to be EXTRA festive!) as well as some of the wilko products too. The gorgeous Wilko Copper Barware Set looked amazing and all of my friends asked where it was from, I was so happy to be able to tell them it was only £10!

This Christmas I'm buying many of my family and friends gin related gifts as it has become such a popular drink this year! These Wilko Gin Bubbles are the perfect gift to give to a gin lover this Christmas as they are so different. I find it so hard some years to find unique and affordable gifts that the receiver won't already own and I think these are perfect, especially for only £2. Another gin related gift that I am personally OBSESSED with (I've already bought this for someone this Christmas!) is the Wilko Gin Infusion Set which allows you to make your own gin! Imagine being able to give someone a G&T with gin you've made yourself?! I think that's incredible!

These two Prosecco gifts would be absolutely perfect as Stocking Fillers for any of your loved ones or as Secret Santa gifts too! The Wilko Peach Bellini Mix and Edible Pearls is a ready made gift, it's so aesthetically pleasing as well as also tasting SO yummy too! The Wilko Peach Bubbles are a perfect addition to any glass of Prosecco and similarly to the gin bubbles above, they're only £2!

The Wilko Make Your Own Margarita Set is an incredible gift that I would personally love to find under the tree! The extra large margarita glass would be perfect to use over Christmas at any party you're going to be hosting as well as a lovely gift to take over to a friends party to say thank you - You'll definitely be invited back again!

I absolutely loved the effect that the Wilko Prosecco Sprinkles gave to my drinks! I especially loved the rose petals as I love the smell of rose as well as the petals making the drink look incredible! I'm planning on buying some more of these for Christmas Day as I know all of my family would love adding these to their drinks!

My final two gifts are absolutely perfect for your friends that love cocktails but are slight novices at actually making the drinks themselves (basically I'm talking about all of us!). The Wilko Tropical Highball Cocktail Mixers include a Pineapple Mai Tai, a Strawberry Daiquiri, a Mojito and a Pina Colada, which I personally think is the perfect mix of cocktails! This is absolutely perfect foe anyone that wants to relive the summer months too! The Wilko Prosecco Cocktail Mixers are so gorgeous with their bauble design looking extra festive, I absolutely adored the blood orange mimosa 😍

I loved using the wilko Christmas party products this weekend with my friends to create some fabulous tasting drinks, we had a great time shaking our cocktails and chatting over Prosecco, it was so lovely! I would highly recommend checking out the range over at wilko, it is so easy to shop online if you can't get to the store too.

It is a fantastic one stop shop this Christmas for all your festive needs!

Which product did you like best?!

Back to Uni with Wilko | A Look at My Uni Room

Moving back to University each September is both an exciting and nerve-racking time however one thing you don't want it to be is expensive! Whilst being at Uni I have found that some items I've bought over the years have been either broken by other housemates or lost along the way so it's so important to me to ensure I don't spend a fortune when moving back to Uni each year. Wilko have some amazing pieces for kitting out your Uni house for the new academic year and I am SO impressed by some of the things I've picked up!

For me, the bed is the centrepiece of a bedroom and making it as homely and cosy as possible is so important, especially in your Uni room. I love adding lots of cushions to my bed (as you can see.. the more the better!) as at Uni your bed is not only where you sleep, you most likely study on it, watch TV on it and spend most of your time there.
I absolutely love this coral cushion and I can't believe it's only £3! I was honestly shocked when this arrived in the post as the quality of this is amazing and feels a lot more than it's price tag.

Blankets and throws are another way to make your room feel super cosy and more like home and I love this throw from Wilko that I've popped at the end of my bed. The pattern is one that will go with many different room styles and is perfect for layering with other blankets too. Once again, the value of this is incredible as this was only £3, making it so affordable for Uni students heading back to start the new academic year!

There are a lot of rose gold accents in my Uni room so this vase fits in perfectly. I absolutely love fresh flowers and my lovely Mum bought me these gorgeous roses when I moved in a few days ago. As much as I am a Uni student, I love interiors and I love my room to feel 'very me' whilst still on a budget which is why items such as this vase are perfect for making my room look a little more polished. I'm still pretty blown away that this vase was only £8, it is just amazing value!

Another item that definitely helps your room to look better are photo frames! I absolutely love having photos of my family and Bradley around my room, I especially loved doing this in my first year of Uni as because it was the first time I'd ever moved away from home, I missed my family so much and having photos around my room really helped. This mirrored photo frame from Wilko is gorgeous, I love how it looks on the shelves in my room! This is yet another item I can't believe the price of at £2.75!

As I've previously mentioned, I don't have a tremendous amount of space in my bedroom this year so I've had to find lots of different storage solutions to help me save space! I love these grey baskets for storing my most worn shoes in (as I have an excessive amount). I've got these inside my wardrobe on the top shelf and they fit in perfectly! These boxes were only £3.50 each too.

Another shoe storage solution I've found are the Wilko storage boxes, I love this one specifically as the box has clips on either side and therefore I can fill it to the brim with shoes and it will still close! This box was amazing value at only £4, which is the best value I've seen for a good quality box of this size.

I absolutely love to have lots of pretty lights in my room as I love to relax with some 'mood lighting' in the evenings after a day at uni. This bedside lamp from Wilko is perfect and is so aesthetically pleasing too, I LOVE the marble base! I've had other bedside lamps through my years at Uni but this one is by far the nicest I've ever had. The lamp was £15.

When I saw the butlers tray table online on the Wilko website I just knew I had to have it! This is perfect for putting up next to my bed when I want to have breakfast in my room or even when I am writing an assignment as I don't have a desk in my bedroom this year. I love the fact it folds down as I can put this at the end of my bed when it's not in use. This is only £16 and I think it looks so much more expensive than it is, it also comes in grey too!

Every Uni student normally has a pin board in their room to pin photos or important letters to however they are normally quite plain and ugly in all honesty! That is why I love this one from Wilko as it's SO pretty, I didn't even realise it was a pin board at first glance on the website. This is also such good value at only £3. Currently I have pinned a photo of Bradley along with some theatre tickets however as Uni commences I will be pinning revision notes on there too!

When I was trawling the Wilko website a few weeks ago, this over door rack was one of the things I was most excited to find! I'd never seen something like this before and I thought it was a great space saving solution, especially at only £10. I've popped this on the back of our storage cupboards door as this is right next to my bedroom. It's been perfect to house items I don't have room for in my bedroom such as my iron, washing products and towels! I've also got lots of bottles of water in here too as I like having them easily accessible rather than having to go upstairs.

Another storage box that I love is this one I am housing my stationery in. As I mentioned I don't have a desk in this bedroom and therefore this box has come in very handy as the place to pop my stationery into. I put this under my bed so I can easily pull it out when I need to use anything from inside the box. Once again, this was incredible value at only £2.

I know I've said this about nearly every single item in this blogpost but I honestly can't get over the prices of the pieces I've got from Wilko, especially as the quality of each and every item has been so good. As you will be able to see in my Back to Uni Haul, I was so impressed by every item that I ordered and they've all fit in perfectly in my new room which I'm so happy about!

The BEST Bikini Purchase

Finding the right bikini or swimsuit for you can be SO difficult, especially when there is so much pressure of looking and feeling 'bikini ready'. I have a few oldies but goodies that I pull out every year that have always served me well, a white broderie H&M bikini and a nautical red Topshop number come to mind.

Whenever I'm not feeling quite ready to face wearing a bikini I always think that wearing a swimsuit will be a better option and for me, in the UK it normally is. Every Easter we go away to the New Forest for a week and will normally be in the pool or hot tub and I'll always wear a swimsuit. However, when I'm on my summer holidays abroad, I never want to wear a swimsuit - I always find them too hot, uncomfortable and end up wearing it a maximum of once! There is a lovely one I've seen on asos recently though (Link Here) which I'm so tempted to purchase however I just don't know whether I'll wear it.

One swimwear purchase that has been very successful though is the Nasty Gal bikini set featured in the above image. I absolutely LOVE it and it is SO flattering. The colours are so bright and vibrant that they just pop and the bottoms a high leg cut which is the dream. It's currently my new favourite purchase and I can't wait to wear it on my holidays! They also have it in two other colour-ways which is so very tempting.

Have you found any swimwear gems this year so far?! Do you prefer a bikini or a swimsuit?

Day In The Life - boohoo PR Intern

I've just stumbled across this draft in my blogging workspace and even though I've now finished my placement year at boohoo, I just had to share it as I've loved re-reading this myself. I'm incredibly sad to have left my job at boohoo now and even though it's lovely having some more free time - London and the world of PR still has my heart and I already can't wait to be back working full time in London when I graduate next year. I will be uploading an entire YouTube video on my placement and living in London over the next few months however for now enjoy the day in the life of a boohoo PR Intern...

6am – I’m a morning person so when my Amazon Alexa alarm goes off at 6am, as much as I don’t want to get up, I wake up, make my bed, get changed into my fitness gear and head into my living room to start my morning workout. I will either follow one of my Mum’s HIIT workouts (Link Here) or follow a Fat Burning workout on YouTube for 30 minutes.

6:30am – I jump into the shower and get ready for the day! I do my makeup whilst watching Good Morning Britain, head to dry and style my hair and then make my breakfast. I normally make something like Scrambled Eggs with spinach, Porridge or a Smoothie for breakfast.

8:10am – I leave my flat and commence on the 30 second walk to the tube station (I know it’s dreamy!) and hop on the tube to work, this takes around 30 minutes so I read my kindle for the majority of the journey and just pray I get a seat otherwise I spend my commute in someones armpit…

9am – Once I get into the office I pop my lunch and snacks in the fridge and sit down at my desk to start my day. I take a look at my diary and make a to-do list for the day as this helps me to prioritise my workload!

10am – On a Monday we receive all the weekend newspapers into the office and on a Tuesday we receive the weeks magazines so around this time I will flick through these and check for any coverage of boohoo or Nasty Gal and mark any missed opportunities. This is one of my favourite parts of the job, I love looking through all the magazines and seeing features that we have secured as a team!

12pm – Around this time I start to get really hungry however I try to hold out until 12:30pm until I eat my lunch! Throughout the morning I will have been completing call in requests that have been sent in from magazines, stylists and influencers as well as creating media alerts for both brands. For this I choose the best product for a particular category such as Festival or Swimwear and pull together images and information to send out to members of UK press.

1:30pm – I normally head out for my lunch around 1:30/2pm and I work in the best area for lunch breaks! I work just off of Carnaby Street so I normally take a walk either down Oxford Street, Regent Street or down to Piccadilly/Leicester Square. I love walking around this area just to get some fresh air and get out of the office environment for a bit especially as it’s getting warmer now too! I will normally give my Mum a ring on my lunch break and we have a chat about how our days are going. There are SO many amazing shops around this area which isn’t great for my bank account however I mostly window shop on my lunch breaks and try not to impulse buy!

3pm – Throughout the afternoon I carry on with my to-do list and will normally be asked to support one of my colleagues on an upcoming project so I may also be helping on this. When working in PR we also get lots of returns from publications as 80% of the products we send out gets returned to us and so I have to process all of these to send them back to the warehouse. It’s not the most glamorous of jobs but it has to be done and it is quite fun seeing all of the product in real life! Throughout the week the jobs I do change a lot, for example on a Tuesday I collate all of our weekly coverage into a report for both brands, I also work on looking for new influencers for us to reach out to and on a Friday I collate a boohoo report from our London activity throughout the week.

5pm – Around this time I check back on my to do list and make sure that everything has been completed, most of the time I still have things left as I get a lot of extra work throughout the day as well as the bits that are on my list at the beginning of the day! For the last hour I normally prioritise what needs doing the most by the end of the day and finish off any urgent call in’s that need to arrive tomorrow!

6pm – HOME TIME! 9-6pm is a very long working day so by the time 6pm comes around I can’t wait to get home! Once I’ve left work I walk to Oxford Circus tube station and hop on the central line for my journey home. It is always absolutely packed however again I put my headphones in and read my kindle and in no time I’m back at my flat!

7pm – As most of you will know I live by myself so I get home at around 6:50pm, I’ve then been adding in an extra cardio workout in the evenings recently for 15-20 minutes and then I make my dinner! I tend to make something healthy and from fresh ingredients as I enjoy cooking. After I’ve eaten my dinner I get snug on the sofa and watch some Netflix and YouTube videos for the rest of the evening!

The job was incredibly busy and the majority of the time very stressful however I absolutely loved it! As I mentioned I really am SO sad to have finished my placement year at boohoo now, it really was the best experience. If you guys have any questions regarding anything I’ve spoken about then please do drop me a message on Twitter or Instagram!
